Sir king penguin is promoted to rank of Brigadier, inspects Norwegian troops

Sir Nils Olav III, a feathered resident of the penguin enclosure at the Edinburgh Zoo, was promoted to the rank of Brigadier of Norway's Army by the Scandinavian country's Royal Guard on Monday.

Olav, a king penguin, was born at Edinburgh's zoo in 1972 and was named, liked the Norwegian Army's two preceding penguin mascots, after Major Nils Gelien and King Olav of Norway.
