President Obama: a smooth Brexit process is in everyone's interest

President of the United States, Barack Obama, urged on Friday that the British exit from the European Union be a smooth transition amid warnings from the European Council that brexit will have serious geopolitical consequences.

Speaking prior to a NATO Summit scheduled to last until Saturday, Obama spoke of the strength and importance of the US-EU relationship, describing the bloc as a great political and economic achievement that must be preserved.
