Japan's GDP increases 1 percent year-on-year in October-December period

Japan's economy grew in the October-December period by 1 percent year-on-year, the Japanese government reported on Monday.

The increase in gross domestic product (GDP) of the world's third-largest economy over the previous three months was 0.2 percent, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of growth, according to data released by the Cabinet Office.
