Hawking: We won't survive another 1000 years without escaping Earth

Physicist Stephen Hawking warned on Wednesday that we must continue traveling to space to secure a future for humanity.

Hawking said he did not believe that we will be capable of surviving another 1000 years without escaping "beyond our fragile planet."
