Pollution causes 6.5 million premature deaths every year

A total of 6.5 million people die prematurely every year due to air pollution, the International Energy Agency, or IEA, revealed on Monday.

In a report presented in London, the IEA revealed that Asia and Africa have the highest rate of death due to pollution, which has become the fourth biggest risk factor for human health, behind blood pressure, malnutrition and smoking.
