Two Russian ships deployed in the waters of the eastern Mediterranean fired three Kalibr cruise missiles on Friday against positions of the Nusra Front, the Russian defense ministry reported.
A statement from the Russian ministry said that a control point and a base of the terrorists, in addition to an ammunition factory for mortars and a large warehouse in the region of Aleppo, were destroyed in the attack.
The projectiles, according to Moscow, successfully reached the designated targets.
To ensure the safety of civilians, the path of the rocket was drawn on unpopulated areas of Syria, the note said.
It is the first time since December last year that Russia has conducted missile attacks against jihadist goals.
